83 days and counting.......

First off, hello and welcome to my blog..... I've done this a couple of times in the past, but this time I am going to stick with it and actually blog. A little about me... I will be 25 on May 12 (yep, Mother's Day) and I'm not at all where I thought I would be at this age. I know, I know, "I'm still young... I've got a whole life ahead of me, blah blah blah," but anyone that knows me knows I plan my life out every other day (I'm working on fixing that)... but I really do need to kick things into high gear at this point. I'm not disappointed with where my life has taken me, it's just a lot different than I had once imagined. In 9 days, I will find out if I was reaccepted into Sac State (I dropped out the semester before graduation, but that's a whole nother story). Right now, this minute, my focus is getting into the best shape of my life.

I'm down from my heaviest (yay!) but I'm also not where I want to be either. I know that no matter how hard this fitness journey is going to be, it's the easiest it will ever be right now. So, to add to my already crazy schedule (I work 3 jobs consistently with babysitting thrown in from time to time), I joined the gym and have been doing my best to take all the 5:30am classes so I can get my workout in before work. I'm currently on day 3 of Atkins (I tried it last year and saw pretty quick results but I only did the first 2 weeks, so this time, I'm doing it for at least 5 weeks and then I will gradually increase the carb intake instead of jumping right to pasta again). Supposedly, the first 3 days is what gets your body to switch over into burning fat as it's primary fuel source as opposed to carbs.... which means tomorrow I should be in full-fat-burning mode, right? Ha! We'll see. I've got 83 days to make a difference I can be proud of... if I can go through 24 years of self-depreciation, I can certainly handle 83 days of a low-carb diet... especially when I get to eat things like lamb chops and bacon! Mmmmmm... bacon.....

Anyhoo, I should let you know I write this as I've just delivered the second batch of french fries I've had to heat up for the girl I care for (her diet consists of Mac n' cheese, chicken noodle soup, french fries, cookies, and cheese-itz)... needless to say, I've really had to take things minute by minute sometimes and not steal a fry or a bite of mac n cheese, but I have to admit I'm proud to say I haven't touched anything of the sort in 2 days! And, I've also started bringing in a couple of workout DVD's and my workout clothes since I'm here (caregiving) for a few hours a day, I figure why not move?! Get in a little workout here and there... the more I move, the more I want to move..... (on the contrary, the more I eat, the more I want to eat, haha)!

My goal in this blog is to give others hope, maybe some inspiration, hold myself accountable, and to let other "big girls" know they aren't alone. Most wouldn't call me "fat" per-say, but on a 4'11" frame, even a 5lb difference is noticeable...and believe me, I've got 150 of those things lurking around... I've always been the chunky monkey of the family and I'm ready to WOW the world... not gonna lie.... sometimes the only thing that motivates me is the thought of someone I haven't seen in a while (especially family members) say, "DAAAMMMNNNN!" Pathetic huh? And in go the 3rd batch of french fries..... TORTURE!

Well, I'm going to go get into my workout gear and get in a small workout or 2 while these fries are cookin!

Happy Wednesday!
Toodles!

    1. Thank you Leslie!!! I don't believe youve gained 80lbs, but if that's the case.... you still look INCREDIBLE! Where are you living now? Did you move back to the West Coast?
